My TOP TEN films for 2015

The list was not easy to limit to Ten pictures

But here is my pick for best films for 2015

10 - Tangerine - A working girl tears through Tinseltown on Christmas Eve searching for the pimp who broke her heart. This is a classic indi flm shot in WEHO Ca. It is edgy an all takes place in one day. Director:  Sean Baker

9 - WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS - Viago, Deacon, and Vladislav are vampires who are finding that modern life has them struggling with the mundane. My favorite comdey of the year, Documentry style and an Indi charmer.  Directors: Jemaine Clement, Taika Waititi

8 - DOPE - Life changes for Malcolm, a geek who's surviving life in a tough neighborhood, after a chance invitation to an underground party leads him and his friends into a Los Angeles adventure. My bottom three pictures are indi pictures and DOPE is my favorite teen themed retro film of 2015. Director: Rick Famuyiwa

7 - STEVE JOBS -The film takes us behind the scenes, to paint a portrait of the man at its epicenter. The story unfolds backstage at three iconic product launches, ending in 1998 with the unveiling of the iMac. My favorite Director of 2015: Danny Boyle

6- SPOTLIGHT -The true story of how the Boston Globe uncovered the massive scandal and cover-up within the local Catholic Archdiocese, shaking the entire Catholic Church to its core. Director:  Tom McCarthy

5 - ROOM - After five-year-old Jack and his mother escape from the enclosed surroundings that Jack has known his entire life, the boy makes a thrilling discovery: the outside world. A powerfull film based on the book, and is the BOYHOOD of 2015. Director:  Lenny Abrahamson

4 -BROOKLYN - An Irish immigrant lands in 1950s Brooklyn, where she quickly falls into a new romance. When her past catches up with her, however, she must choose between two countries and the lives that exist within. Director: John Crowley

3 - AMY - The story of Amy Winehouse in her own words, featuring unseen archival footage and unheard tracks. This is an amazing compulation of clips from this talented womens life - a wonderful Doc.  Director: Asif Kapadia

2 - MAD MAX FURY ROAD -A woman rebels against a tyrannical ruler in post apocalyptic Australia in search for her homeland with the help of a group of female prisoners, a psychotic worshiper, and a drifter named Max. This is my action - blockbuster for 2015, and not STAR WARS, yes it is a great comeback movie - Yet MAD MAX is the best crafted blockbuster of 2015 - Director:  George Miller

1 - THE BIG SHORT - Four outsiders in the world of high-finance who predicted the credit and housing bubble collapse of the mid-2000s decide to take on the big banks for their lack of foresight and greed. My pick for best film of 2015 a steller cast and Director Adam McKay did his best to make this complicated story easy to understand.
